Acer rubrum
Fast-growing native tree with brilliant red fall color. One of the most widely planted trees in North America.
Adapts to most soils including wet areas. Minimal pruning needed. Roots can lift pavement over time.
Wilted/dried leaves are toxic to horses specifically (red blood cell damage); lower but present risk for cats and dogs chewing on leaves or bark.
Informational only β always check with a veterinarian if you suspect your pet has eaten something it shouldn't have.
