Quercus palustris
Fast-growing, pyramidal oak with fine-textured leaves. One of the most widely planted street and shade trees in the US.
Tolerates wet, poorly drained soil better than most oaks. Can develop chlorosis in alkaline soil β prefers acidic conditions.
Acorns and young leaves are toxic to cats and dogs in quantity (tannins) β usually low-risk from occasional acorn snacking.
Informational only β always check with a veterinarian if you suspect your pet has eaten something it shouldn't have.
